East Side Elementary School is located at 501 E. Randolph Street in McLeansboro, Illinois. East Side houses students in grades K-6th with 3 sections at each grade level. Many of the students attending East Side live in McLeansboro, however many are bused in from the countryside surrounding the city. Approximately 480 students attend East Side.

East Side has a large library with a wide variety of books and materials. A computer lab is available for students use. Extra curricular sports activities are available for 5th and 6th grade students throughout part of the year. East Side has an active group of senior volunteers called the Senior Readers and parent volunteers are welcomed.
