Baby Talk Birthday
Party 09/03/ 08 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. This party is for all Hamilton County 1,
2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds who celebrate a birthday in the months of July,
August, and September. Each child will
receive a free goodie bag and book for attending the party.
Baby TALK 3 -5 Year Old Play Group – 09/05/08
9:00 - 10:30 a.m. This Play Group is for all Hamilton County
3- 5 year olds and their parents. It encourages “parent
- child” interaction through finger plays, songs, books, and activities. This
will be a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn to play with other children
the same age. The Play Group will meet the 1st Friday of each month.
Baby
TALK Times Tots & Two’s- 09/12/08 9:00- 10:00 a.m. This group is for all
Hamilton County tots and two’s. It encourages “parent - child” interaction
through finger plays, songs, and activities. This will be a great time for new
parents to interact with other parents. The Baby TALK Times will meet the 2nd
Friday of each month.
Let’s
Move – 09/19/08 9:00 – 10:00
a.m. This group is for children of all ages. During the class, families will
begin with warm up time, a movement activity, and a cool down activity. The
class will meet in the Old High School Lobby on the 3rd Friday of
each month.
Counselor
Counseling appointments are
available for individuals and families. For more information about the sessions
with Teresa Miller, MSW, LCSW, please call Janice. All appointments are kept
confidential.
GED
Classes These classes are for
individuals who need to prepare for the GED test. Students have an opportunity
to work on class assignments, learn new computer skills, and practice like
skills. For more information contact the Family Resource Center. Anita Nenonen
is the instructor. Classes will be from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 (noon) at the Family
Resource Center on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Family Fun Time – 09/24/08 1:30
– 3:00 p.m. Child and Family Connections
sponsor this group. The group will be focusing on issues of development for
children birth to five years of age. Also, parenting skills and medical
concerns will be discussed. The group will help parents cope with their child’s
disabilities. If you have any questions, please call Gwen at 1-800-463-2759.
Grandparent
Group/Relative Raising Relative - 09/16/08 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Are you a Relative raising a relative? This
relative you are raising could be your grandchild, niece, nephew, or cousin.
Come and join us! For more information, please call the Family Resource Center
at 643-2328 ext. 3. The Group will meet the 3rd Tuesday of each
month throughout the school year.
Family
Fun Night- Each class will conduct a
Family Fun Night for their class. Please watch your child’s newsletter for the
details of your month.
Options
for Mother’s and Babies (OFMB) This is an educational program for
pregnant teens and teen moms needing to stay in high school. This program
allows students to come to the Family Resource Center to meet with a tutor and
work on class assignments. We will also focus on parenting and nurturing skills
for mom and baby. Mothers will be encouraged to bring their babies to class
with them. If you know of a pregnant teen or teen mom who might benefit from
this experience, please call Janice at 643-2328 ext.3.
Story Hour at the McCoy
Library 09/xx/08 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. This is a great opportunity to introduce
children ages 4 – 8 to the McCoy Memorial Library. For more information; please
