Awesome is only a word but it describes the fire in the mule barn last night.  The Lady Foxes prevailed for a Black Diamond Conference Championship with a 47-46 win over the Lady Mules.  Congratulations to all the Lady Foxes -  we are very proud of you.  Also last night Emma Moreton scored  her 1000th point as a Lady Fox.  Fabulous accomplishment Emma.

 

There will be no detention after school today.

 

Attention Teachers: Progress reports are scheduled to be mailed February 10th. Please have Lumen information updated Wednesday by 3:30 p.m.

 

Students wanting to participate in the math regional on February 25, need to see Mr Ward.

 

All Spanish club members need to have their $12.50 for club t-shirts turned into Mr. Guzman by today, Friday, February 3rd.  If you have any questions, see Mr. Guzman.

 

Attention Students:  FBLA will be selling pink and red carnations and Crush Sodas at lunch February 6th through February 10th to be given anonymously on Valentine’s Day.  The cost is $2.00 and all proceeds will be going to March of Dimes.

 

Yearbook is looking for any senior who has a picture with their automobile. Give them to Mrs. Auten by today, Friday, Feb. 3.  Yearbook Deadline!  

 

Attention Students: Your community service help is needed on March 30th at the Annual Prayer Breakfast. This is a great chance for 2.5 hours of community service. Sign up in the Guidance Office.

 

Any High School student who wishes to work for the Sumer League may pick up an application in the office.  These forms must be returned to the office no later than February 24th.  Registration forms are also available in the office.

 

The following freshmen are working at the concession stand on Monday, February 6th: Emaline Hart, Morgan Donelson, Emily Wellen, Trase Smith, and Luke Stover.  Please be at the concession stand by 5:45.  If you cannot work it is your responsibility to find a replacement and tell Mrs. Folden.

 

Attention all students: Rend Lake College is offering classes in English, Math, Science and Social Studies. If you need classes for credit recovery please see Mrs. Lueke ASAP to see if you qualify.

 

Representatives from SEMO will be here on February 13 to visit with interested Jrs and Srs. Sign up in the Guidance Office if you would like to talk with her.

 

Winter Bash is coming after the home basketball game on February 10 until 10:45.  There will be something for everyone:   free pizza, other refreshments, video games, ping pong, dodge ball and volleyball.  Admission is a non-perishable food item or $2.00.  If you’re worried about bringing the non-perishable food item to the ballgame, never fear!  The item can be brought to the guidance office during the week of February 6 through 10th.  You will be given a pass to present at Winter Bash and you will not have to worry with it that night.  Come join us for food and fun – and you will be helping a good cause.

 

Attention Interact Members:  If you are willing to donate cookies or cupcakes to be used at Winter Bash please come to the guidance office and sign up.

Attention College Bound Seniors: Please remember to fill out that Free Application for Financial Student Aide. The applications are now available at fafsa.ed.gov Funds are awarded on a first come first serve basis. The sooner you apply the more money is available.  Colleges will not accept your local scholarships unless you have completed this application. See Mrs. Lueke if you need help

 

The Jr. High Interact Club is collecting pop tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Evansville.   Please start pulling your tabs and placing them in the containers in the lunch room or the one located at the school store.  Every tab makes a difference in a sick child’s life.

 

Southeastern Illinois Electric Coop is now accepting applications for the Youth to Washington essay contest. The deadline for application is March 1. Pick yours up from the Guidance Office.

 

ATTENTION ALL REND LAKE BOUND SENIORS: The Rend Lake College Foundation Scholarship application is available at rlc.edu. The deadline for application is February 28. It is very important that you apply for this scholarship if you plan at all to attend Rend Lake. This is a FIRM deadline. Please see Mrs. Lueke with questions.
