Classroom Expectations

Mrs. Auten

As high school students, you are expected to be mature young adults and act appropriately during all school activities.

Rules

1.      Be on time; plan to remain in classroom for the entire period.  Don't ask to leave for bathroom, locker, etc.  If you come in late a tardy will be assessed.  Each quarter you will be permitted to go to the bathroom or locker two times without penalty you must have your planner to leave the room without penalty.  However, it is strongly suggested that you do this in the four minutes between classes.  At the end of the quarter, for each privilege pass unused you will receive 5 bonus Test points.  Three unexcused tardies and every tardy thereafter results in a detention and loss of APB points.  Three tardies count as one unexcused absence and therefore semester exams will be required.

2.   Be prepared.  Bring all materials to class

3.   No food or drinks are allowed in class. (

4.   Do NOT line up at the door, prior to the bell.

5.   Show respect towards others and school property. Try not to distract other students by talking out of turn or when you should be working.

6    Please do not bring back bags or other large bags to class.  If you do you will be asked to leave them at the door.

Consequences                   1st offense:    Verbal warning, loss of APB points

2nd offense:   Detention, parent notification, loss of ABP points

Student Planners

Student planners are expected to be brought to class every day.  Student planners will be required in order to receive permission to leave the room in most cases.  Lesson Plans are posted on my website:  http://unit10.com/hs/autenl,  However, students are still encouraged to keep assignments in their planners.

Participation points will be given for . . .

APB Points

Each student will receive points daily for attendance, participation, and behavior in class.  Points are not lost for absences that are doctor excused or for school approved field trips.

Progress Reports

Progress reports are sent home with every student regardless of grade with the expectation that they will share their progress with their parents, have them signed and brought back for participation points.

Make-Ups

CLASSWORK - use extra time in class or study hall.  Three day grace period and then points will be taken off for every day late.  Most computer work is to be made up in school and not taken home.  All incomplete work will be treated as a zero after two weeks.

TESTS - Must be prearranged, usually after or before school, within three day grace.

Use Time Wisely - Use extra time for homework, make-up or extra practice.  Talking and idle hands are a distraction to others.  No games will be permitted other than typing games.  Internet surfing is restricted to required work only.
