Intro in STEM: During the course of a 7th-grade STEM class, students participate in a variety of hands-on activities. The activities range from building simple machines, working with the Makey Makey program, developing their own stories and animated videos using Scratch, and designing their own dance revolution game utilizing Scratch in conjunction with Makey Makey. These activities are an exciting way to have students explore thinking outside the box while using a collaborative approach to learning.

STEM: The student received an A in science in at least 3 of the 4 quarters in seventh grade. The student earned a spring science RIT score of 215 or higher. The student qualifies for Algebra I in eighth grade. Teacher recommendation for eighth grade STEM. In order to be placed in the eighth-grade stem class, the student must meet 3 of the 4 requirements to be considered eligible for placement. If the teacher recommends a student who does not meet these requirements, they could also be considered for placement.
