The Board of Education of Hamilton County Community Unit District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of April 29, 2009, for the purpose of conducting a reorganizational meeting at 7:15 p.m. in the Unit Office.

Board President Ewald, appointed Vince Mitchell, Superintendent, as President Pro Tem. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Board President Ewald, appointed Irene Biggerstaff as Secretary Pro Tem. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

President Pro Tem Mitchell called the meeting to order. Roll Call was as follows: Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Randy Kirsch, Tom Maulding, Rodney Rubenacker and John Ewald.

President Pro Tem Mitchell opened nominations for board president for a two year term. Ewald was nominated by Becker.

Ewald was declared president by acclamation.

President Ewald opened nominations for board vice-president for a two year term. Motion by Anselment, second by Kirsch to nominate Maulding.

Maulding was declared vice-president by acclamation.

Motion by Maulding, second by Anselment to employ Irene Biggerstaff as board secretary for a term of two years. Roll Call vote - Voting Yes – Maulding, Anselment, Becker, Kirsch, Rubenacker, and Ewald. Motion carried.

President Ewald opened nominations for executive session secretary for a two year term. Motion by Anselment, second by Becker to nominate Kirsch.

Kirsch was declared executive session secretary by acclamation.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Anselment to set the regular meeting date of the Board of Education for Hamilton County Community Unit District No. 10 Hamilton County, Illinois be established as the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. between April and October and 6:00 p.m. between November and March at the Hamilton County Unit 10 Office in said district. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Anselment that previous Board policies for Hamilton County Community Unit District No. 10 be adopted as the official policies and regulations for this Board of Education. Roll Call vote - Voting Yes – Becker, Anselment, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker, Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Becker to designate financial depositories as follows:

Peoples National Bank of McLeansboro, IL for the following Funds: Tort, Educational, Pre-School/Daycare, Building, Municipal Retirement, Fire Prevention & Safety, Debt Service, Transportation and Working Cash.

To appointment Carmen Beck as the School Treasurer and to retain Robbins, Schwartz, Nicholas, Lifton and Taylor on a monthly retainer until such time as the Board decides otherwise. Roll Call vote - Voting Yes – Anselment, Becker, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Abstain Voting – Randy Kirsch. Motion carried.

President Ewald designated members to serve on Board Committees as attached for a period of two years.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Rubenacker to adjourn. Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 7:17 P.M.
