The Board of Education of Hamilton County School District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of January 8, 2009, at 5:30 p.m., in the Unit Office.

The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald and Roll Call was as follows: Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Randy Kirsch, Tom Maulding, and John Ewald. Absent- Donelson and Rubenacker.

Motion by Maulding, second by Anselment to enter in to executive session at 5:30 p.m. to conduct an expulsion hearing for a high school Student A 09, due to a violation of the District’s discipline policy. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Maulding, Anselment, Becker, Kirsch, and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Kirsch to come out of executive session at 6:01 p.m. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Kirsch, Maulding, Anselment, and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Maulding to approve the minutes from executive session. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Anselment to approve action for Disciplinary Violations of the Substance Abuse Policy by Student A as follows: Recommendation to expel Student A 09 for the third quarter of the 2008-2009 school year but with placement at the Norrris City Annex School and to receive appropriate substance abuse counseling at the Norris City Annex. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Anselment, Kirsch, Maulding, and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Anselment to adjourn. Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 6:03 p.m.
