The Board of Education of Hamilton County School District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of September 8, 2008, at 6:30 p.m., in the Unit Office.

The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald and Roll Call was as follows: Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Randy Kirsch, Tom Maulding, Rodney Rubenacker and John Ewald. Krystal Donelson-absent. Motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Kirsch to enter in to executive session at 6:30 p.m. to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, performance of specific employees; collective bargaining; pending litigation; student discipline; and placement of individual students in special education programs. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Kirsch, Anselment, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Anselment to come out of executive session at 7:30 p.m. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Anselment, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Maulding to approve the minutes from executive session. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Becker to accept the four year notice of retirement from Frances Palmer as a special education teacher in the District effective at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Kirsch, Becker, Anselment, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Maulding to accept the four year notice of retirement from Curt Endicott as a special education teacher in the District effective at the end of the 2011-2012 school year. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Anselment, Maulding, Becker, Kirsch, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Rubenacker, second by Kirsch to employ Keith Welch as Jr. Varsity high school boy’s basketball assistant coach for the 2008-2009 school year. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Rubenacker, Kirsch, Anselment, Becker, Maulding and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Becker to employ Toni Webb as a part-time Rend Lake

College tutor at Dahlgren School and Tabitha Bernard and Randi Pippin at East Side School for the 2008-2009 school year. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Anselment, Becker, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Rubenacker, second by Maulding to authorize to advertise for the following positions for the 2008-2009 school year: Boy’s Junior High Basketball, Director of Sporting Clays, and Child Care Workers on an as needed basis. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Anselment to adjourn. Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
