The Board of Education of Hamilton County School District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of January 5, 2009, at 5:30 p.m., in the Jr. High Library.

            The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald and Roll Call was as follows:  Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Randy Kirsch, Tom Maulding, Rodney Rubenacker and John Ewald.  Krystal Donelson-absent.  Motion carried.

            Krystal Donelson entered the meeting at 5:32 p.m.

            Motion by Rubenacker, second by Kirsch to approve to pay the following bill:  Country Mutual Insurance for an audit adjustment for Worker’s Compensation and Commerce Package insurance in the amount of $10,432.60.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Rubenacker, Kirsch, Anselment, Becker, Donelson, Maulding and Ewald.  Motion carried.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Donelson to authorize the Superintendent to sign the Race to the Top Grant-Memo of Understanding.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Becker to enter in to executive session at 5:42 p.m. to discuss appointment and employment of specific employees and student disciplinary hearing.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Anselment, Becker, Donelson, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Becker, second by Donelson to come out of executive session at 6:38 p.m.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes –  Becker, Donelson, Anselment, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Donelson, second by Rubenacker to approve the minutes from executive session.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Anselment to approve to expel Student A for the remainder of the second semester of the 2009-2010 school year, but to approve attendance and high school credits from the Regional Safe School in Mt. Vernon.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Kirsch, Anselment, Becker, Donelson, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Rubenacker, second by Becker authorize to advertise for a special education teacher and teacher aides, as needed.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

            Motion by Rubenacker, second by Donelson to adjourn.  Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
