The Board of Education of Hamilton County School District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of April 12, 2010, at 7:00 p.m., in the Unit Office.

            The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald and Roll Call was as follows:  Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Krystal Donelson, Randy Kirsch, and John Ewald.  Tom Maulding and Rodney Rubenacker-absent.  Motion carried.

            Superintendent’s Report-         

            Mr. Mitchell distributed tentative end of year calendar and noted that Prom is scheduled for April 24, 2010.

NEW BUSINESS

Motion by Kirsch, second by Anselment to approve Health/Life Safety amendments in the amount of $29,898 as recommended by FGM Architects, Inc.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Kirsch, Anselment, Becker, Donelson, and Ewald.  Motion carried.

Motion by Donelson, second by Becker to enter in to executive session at 7:10 p.m. to conduct student disciplinary hearings.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Donelson, Becker, Anselment, Kirsch and Ewald.  Motion carried.

Rodney Rubenacker entered the meeting at 7:28 p.m.

            Motion by Becker, second by Kirsch to come out of executive session at 9:42 p.m.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes  Becker, Kirsch, Anselment, Donelson, Rubenacker, and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Donelson, second by Anselment to approve the minutes from executive session.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Kirsch to approve to expel Student A for 365 days with recommendation to attend alternative school placement based on their individualized education plan.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

The Board determined that there was no further disciplinary action required on Student B. 

Motion by Becker, second by Kirsch to expel Student C for 365 days with recommendation to attend the Safe School in Mt. Vernon.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

            Motion by Anselment, second by Becker to expel Student D for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year and first quarter of the 2010-2011 school year and recommended to attend the Safe School in Mt. Vernon.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

            Motion by Donelson, second by Rubenacker to expel Student E for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year and first quarter of the 2010-2011 school year and recommended to attend the Safe School in Mt. Vernon.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

            Motion by Becker, second by Donelson to adjourn.  Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
