The Board of Education of Hamilton County School District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of March 3, 2010, at 6:00 p.m., in the Unit Office.

The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald and Roll Call was as follows: Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Randy Kirsch, Tom Maulding, Rodney Rubenacker and John Ewald. Krystal Donelson-absent. Motion carried.

Krystal Donelson entered the meeting at 6:02 p.m.

Motion by Becker, second by Kirsch to enter in to executive session at 6:03 p.m. to conduct student disciplinary hearings; and to discuss pending litigation; and the appointment, compensation, performance, and dismissal of specific employees. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Kirsch, Anselment, Donelson, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Anselment to come out of executive session at 9:00 p.m. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Anselment, Donelson, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Maulding to approve the minutes from executive session. Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Rubenacker, second by Becker to approve to expel Student A for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year and if doesn’t complete graduation credits will also be expelled for the first semester of the 2010-2011 school year and is assigned to attend the SPARC program during this time to earn credits. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Rubenacker, Becker, Anselment, Donelson, Kirsch, Maulding, and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Anselment, second by Kirsch to approve to expel Student B for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year with recommendation to attend the Safe School in Mt. Vernon during this expulsion to continue to earn credits. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Anselment, Kirsch, Becker, Donelson, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald. Motion carried.

Motion by Becker, second by Rubenacker to approve to expel Student C for the remainder of the 2009-2010 school year and assigned to attend the SPARC program during this time to earn credits. Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Rubenacker, Anselment, Donelson, Kirsch, Maulding and Ewald. Motion carried,

Motion by Maulding, second by Donelson to adjourn. Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 9:02 p.m.
