The Board of Education of Hamilton County School District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of March 3, 2011, at 4:00 p.m., in the Unit Office.

            The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald and Roll Call was as follows:  Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Randy Kirsch, Terry Rubenacker and John Ewald.  Krystal Donelson and Tom Maulding-absent. 

            Motion by Becker, second by Rubenacker to enter in to executive session at 4:02 p.m. to conduct student disciplinary expulsion hearings and to discuss pending litigation against the District.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Rubenacker, Anselment, Kirsch, and Ewald.  Motion carried.

Tom Maulding entered the meeting at 5:10 p.m.

            Motion by Kirsch, second by Anselment to come out of executive session at 5:26 p.m.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes  Becker, Anselment, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Becker, second by Anselment to approve the minutes from executive session.  Vote was taken by voice and motion carried.

Motion by Kirsch, second by Rubenacker to approve to expel Student E for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year, with recommendation to attend the Regional Safe School in Mt. Vernon.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Kirsch, Rubenacker, Anselment, Becker, Maulding, and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Anselment, second by Becker to approve to expel Student F thru April 8, 2011 with recommendation to attend the SPARC program and may return to the Jr. High on Monday, April 11, 2011.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Anselment, Becker, Kirsch, Maulding, Rubenacker, and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Becker, second by Rubenacker to approve to expel Student G for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year with recommendation to attend the Regional Safe School in Mt. Vernon.  Roll Call Vote – Voting Yes – Becker, Rubenacker, Anselment, Kirsch, Maulding, and Ewald.  Motion carried.

            Motion by Becker, second by Anselment to adjourn.  Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 5:29 p.m.
